Description	:	Frederick Francis “Fritz” Styskal was born to Frank and Antonia (Kovar) Styskal on the family farm south of Exeter, December 14, 1922 and died May 30, 2008 at the Exeter, Care Center, after suffering a massive stroke one year ago. Read More	Frederick Francis “Fritz” Styskal was born to Frank and Antonia (Kovar) Styskal on the family farm south of Exeter, December 14, 1922 and died May 30, 2008 at the Exeter, Care Center, after suffering a massive stroke one year ago. He was the third of three sons. Fritz spent his early years on the farm and attended District #72 country schools through the eighth grade. He then enrolled in Exeter, High School where he graduated with the class of 1940. During his high school years, he met the love of his life, Norma Jean Condon, and they were married, November 3, 1941. They moved to LaVerne, California where he worked in an aircraft factory. He enlisted in the United States Navy, and served from April 12, 1944 through March 14, 1946, ranking as an Aviation Metalsmith, Second Class. He did all the work on the planes. After being discharged from the Navy, he and the family returned to Exeter, and purchased a garage from Raymond Condon. Fritz was known to be able to “fix anything mechanical”. He did repair work for Johnny Adamson truck line. Sometimes, when other area mechanics had problems they couldn’t figure out, they bring in Fritz and he could quickly resolve the situation. He operated a case implement dealership at this time also. He gave his garage business up in 1967 and then farmed full-time. Albert Kaiser and he formed a partnership and farmed ground together until Fritz retired about five years ago. Fritz and Jean traveled to many states after their children were raised. Their traveling companions oftentimes were Florence and Howard Hall or Del and Alfreida Jensen. They especially enjoyed their vacations to Las Vegas, as they loved to play Keno. Fritz enjoyed fishing with his buddies when he was younger. Fritz was a member of the Exeter, American Legion Post 218. Grandchildren and great grandchildren were special joy to Fritz and Jean. Many Christmases and birthdays were spent in their home; these times are treasured memories for the whole family. Fritz especially liked to play Keno and had an uncanny insight on how to play the game. He also enjoyed Czech Polka and especially liked accordion music. He enjoyed shooting the breeze with his farmer friends and the folks at the Styskal Irrigation – Deanna and Dick Arbuck and Duane Smith, on a daily basis. He had a great interest in World War II history and was often found at home watching the History Channel. Fritz is survived by three children; Ron and wife Janet,Friend; Daryl and Annie of Exeter, and Cheryl and Dwayne Luzum of Milligan. Grandchildren and great grandchildren are: Jeremy and Tammy Styskal at McCool; Jenny and Jon Faust, Payton, Preston, and Piper, St Louis; Gary and Amber Styskal, Jacob and Caleb, Akron Ohio; Heidi Styskal, Kearney; Laurie and Scott Glock, Madison and Miranda, Lincoln; Rebecca Nichols, Phoenix. Step grandchildren and step great grand children: Duane Junior and Shelly Luzum, Alison, Kate and Jeff, Omaha; Dale and Tamra luzum, Jackie, Derrick, Haley and Trevor of Milligan; Amanda and Shawn Barney and daughter Elizabeth Ohlde of Strang ; Brian Hinders of Seattle. He is survived also by two nieces, Ramona Weighton of Denver and Linoma Gragson of Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne of whom he was married 64 years; parents Frank and Tony Styskal; brothers Elmer and Bill. The Final Harvest He was bound to the land from the day of his birth, His roots anchored deep in the fertile earth, Nurtured, sustained, by the soil he grew, And his life, like his furrows, ran straight and true. In faith, each spring, he planted seeds, In hope, to reap his family’s needs. With patience, he waited for the harvest to come, To gather the fruits of his labor home. Ever turning seasons, the years sped past, “Til the final harvest come at last. Then claimed anew by beloved sod, He was gathered home to be with God.
