Description	:	Clipping from Audubon County Journal, 4-6-1905: Fred Baier was born in the state of Baden, Germany, December 27, 1851, and died April 2, 1905 aged fifty-three years, three months and five days. He came to America in the year 1876 and settled in Iowa Co., Iowa where he resided until 1881, when he removed to Audubon Co., Iowa purchasing the home farm in Exira township where he has spent the remainder of his life. Read More	Clipping from Audubon County Journal, 4-6-1905: Fred Baier was born in the state of Baden, Germany, December 27, 1851, and died April 2, 1905 aged fifty-three years, three months and five days. He came to America in the year 1876 and settled in Iowa Co., Iowa where he resided until 1881, when he removed to Audubon Co., Iowa purchasing the home farm in Exira township where he has spent the remainder of his life. In the year 1882 he was married to Miss Kate Apperle. To this union seven children wee born, four boys and three girls all of which together with the mother remain to mourn the loss of the father and husband. The deceased was a man of business and energy succeeding well in all his undertakings. He was a good citizen, a reliable neighbor, a kind father, and a devoted husband. He was born of Lutheran parentage and confirmed in the Lutheran Church early in life remaining a member of the same until his death. The funeral service was held at the Congregational Church at Exira at two o'clock, Tuesday afternoon, conducted by G.E.Nichols, pastor of the Christian Church. The deceased was well known over the county and a large number attended the funeral.
