Read More	Obituary Published in The Enterprise, February 5, 1925 PIONEER ARLINGTON RESIDENT IS BURIED Funeral services for Fred C. Menking, who died at his home in Arlington, Jan. 28, were conducted last Friday afternoon, Jan. 30 from the family residence, Rev. J. E. Aeschbacher of the Congregational church officiating. Mr. Menking was an old resident of Arlington and for a number of years successfully conducted a garage until his failing health forced him to retire from business. He was born at Columbus, Ohio August 9, 1863. With his parents he settled in that community at an early age. On September 6, 1884 he was married to Helen Kennicut; ten children were born to this union, all of whom are living and with only one exception they reside in or near Arlington. Surviving him are his wife and children, Mrs. Henry Pfeiffer; Mrs. J. W. Timperly, Stanton; Chester Menking, Mrs. Carl Jensen, Laurence Menking, Mrs. Clyde Wilkinson, Miss Elsie and Rupert Menking. Besides these he leaves twenty grandchildren and three brothers, William Menking of Ohiowa; George of Kennard; and Edward of Snyder, Colorado. (His burial site was found to be in the Arlington Cemetery.) #2 February 4, 1925 - The Pilot Funeral services for Fred G. Menking were held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the home. Rev. J. E. Aeschbacher officiating. He was born August 9, 1863 at Columbus, Ohio. At an early age he came to this county with his parents. On September 6, 1884 he was married to Helen Kennicutt. For many years Mr. Menking owned and operated a garage here and on account of his health he was forced to retire. He passed away on Wednesday evening at seven o’clock. Ten children were born to this union, all of whom are living. Surviving him are his wife and the following children: Mrs. Henry Pfeiffer, Mrs. J. W. Timperly, Stanton, Chester, Mrs. Carl Jensen, Mrs. Clyde Wilkinson, Lawrence, Alfred, Mrs. Lawence Hall, Miss Elsie and Rupert.
