Lena Timperley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Menking, was born April 19, 1887 in Washington county near Blair. She died May 3 at a Norfolk hospital after an extended illness. She had spent the past few months in a Norfolk nursing home. On Feb. 11, 1908, she married Judson W. Timperley at Omaha. They moved to a farm in Stanton county, north east of Madison where they lived until moving to Norfolk in 1953. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Royal (Agnes) Nahrstedt, Mrs. Arthur (Gladys) Theil and Mrs. Merle (Edith) Morris, all of Madison; one son, Lyle Timperley of Madison; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ray (Elsie) Keeler, Mrs. Ella Pfeifer and Mrs. Maude Hall, all of Arlington; and one brother, Rupert Menking of Kirkland, Wash. She was preceded in death by her husband in April 1958; an infant son, one grand- child, three brothers and two sisters. all spelling and punctuation as it appeared in the paper (GH)
