He was raised in Tama Co., and in a 1920 census was married to Mayme Agusta Devine and was working as a foreman at the Chicago and NW Railroad. Fredrick Willard Berka was born in 1912 while they were living in the Colo area. In January, 1933, Fred became ill with influenza and was under a doctor’s care until he died secondary to encephilitis April 23, 1933. He died at the age of 48 yrs., 10 mos. He had worked at... He was raised in Tama Co., and in a 1920 census was married to Mayme Agusta Devine and was working as a foreman at the Chicago and NW Railroad. Fredrick Willard Berka was born in 1912 while they were living in the Colo area. In January, 1933, Fred became ill with influenza and was under a doctor’s care until he died secondary to encephilitis April 23, 1933. He died at the age of 48 yrs., 10 mos. He had worked at the C & NW Railroad all of his adult life. Mayme was at his side when he died, and was the informant for the death report. He was buried in the St. James Cemetery in Colo.
