Mr. Howder was born in Correctionville, Iowa, spent his early years at Kingsley, and received his education there. In 1904 he and Miss Nett Wilmoth were united in marriage at Sioux City, IA and together they farmed in Iowa, Nebraska and Wyoming before coming to Washington in 1935, living at Richland until 1943 when they moved to Outlook where they continued to make their home. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren. Fred J Howder is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nettie Howder of Outlook, two granddaughters, Mrs. Laura Curnutt and Mrs. Pearl Colley, both of Sunnyside; four grandsons, Frederick Halverson, San Diego, Cal., Theodore Halverson, Fullerton, Cal. Harry Halverson, Pasco and Carl Halverson, Seattle; also 21 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren, one sister and a large number of nieces and nephews. His only dau, Mrs. Elsie Halverson, Pasco passed away in 1959. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 13 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Smith Funeral home with Rev Elton Berg of the Church of the Brethren officiating. Burial will be in Lower Valley Memorial Gardens under the direction of the SGH.
