Description	:	Frederick S. Adams was born October 29, 1839 at Chatham, Ontario, Canada, and died Wednesday morning, May 18, 1927 at his home in Greenbush township, Alcona County [Michigan]. At the early age of 12 young Adams left his home and made his way to New York state, where for years he was employed along the Erie Canal. Returning to Ontario he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Reeves at Vittoria, on January 12, 1862. Adams was born October 29, 1839 at Chatham, Ontario, Canada, and died Wednesday morning, May 18, 1927 at his home in Greenbush township, Alcona County [Michigan]. At the early age of 12 young Adams left his home and made his way to New York state, where for years he was employed along the Erie Canal. Returning to Ontario he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Reeves at Vittoria, on January 12, 1862. Mrs. Adams and six of the eight children born of this union are living, the children being William, Bert, Fred, Eugene and Mrs. Willis [Margaret] Emerson, all of Mikado and Mrs. Rose Ross of Harrisville. There are also 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Mr. Adams and his family moved to the United States in 1875, settling in Saginaw county, and two years later came to Alcona county, landing at Greenbush. That same year they moved on the land, then covered by a dense forest, which has been the family home ever since and where Mr. Adams passed away after a residence of fifty years--being in a very true sense a pioneer resident of the county. Funeral services were held Friday at the home, in charge of Rev. C. M. Boyce. Interment was made at Springport Cemetery. [From the Alcona County Review, Thursday, May 26, 1927]
