It was in charge of Rev. Armin Tendick, pastor of the Reformed church. Following the funeral Mrs. Haeussler's body was buried by the side of her husband in Oakwood cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Haeussler settled in Monticello In 1871, where the former was engaged as landlord of the old Monticello House, which was formerly located on Main street, on the land now occupied by the Mid- Continent filling station. Mrs. Haeussler made her home In Monticello until fifteen years ago. Since that time she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Edward A. Turnis, at Peru, Illinois. She had been in fairly good health until five weeks ago, when she fell and sustained a fracture of the hip. Throughout her Illness she was given tender care by her daughter. Mrs. Haeussler was born in Hanover, Germany, March 1, 1842, and died at Peru, Illinois last Saturday, March 22, at the age of 88 years and 22 days. She came to the United States at the age of fourteen years, and six years later was married to Louis Haeussler at Poughkeepsle. They made their home in that city for nine years, and then came to Montlcello in 1871. Eight children were born to this union, five of whom, together with Mr. Haeussler, preceded Mrs. Haeussler in death. The survivors are: Mrs. Edward A. Turnis of Peru, Ill., Benjamin Haeussler of Coleridge, Neb., and William Haeussler of Chicago, Ill. She is also survived by a number of grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. Source: Monticello Express, March 27, 1930 - pg 1
