Fredericka Paulson was born in Hausen, Germany, February 7, 1864. Read More	The Correctionville News, 8 October 1936, page 3: Mrs. Fredericka Hunwardsen, 72, died at her home in Cushing Sunday evening, after a year's illness. Fredericka Paulson was born in Hausen, Germany, February 7, 1864. At the age of 18 she came to Oxford Junction, Jones Co., Iowa, to marry her fiancé, Thomas Hunwardsen, December 9, 1885; and for fifteen years the couple lived on a farm near Oxford Junction. After that they moved to Woodbury County, rented a farm for six years near Cushing, then bought a home near Danbury where they lived until they retired to Sioux City. They lived there until Mr. Hunwardsen preceded his wife in death four years ago. Since then Mrs. Hunwardsen has lived in Cushing to be near her daughters. Nine of the ten Hunwardsen children were born on the farm near Oxford Junction, the youngest child was born in Woodbury County, and all tell of her loving care as a mother. When she was not busy with her manifold family cares, she was quilting or hooking rugs; her hands were never idle. The ten filial children are: John, Moline, Illinois: August and Henry, Cushing; Tom and Edward, Sioux City; Otto, Danbury; Mrs. Meta Albers and Mrs. Linda Petersen, Danbury; Mrs. Mary Strackbein, Sioux City. There are also 23 grandchildren and one great grandchild. As a young girl the deceased was confirmed in the German Lutheran faith and her funeral services will be held in the German Lutheran church at Cushing with its pastor, Rev. A.H. Landgrebe officiating. Burial will be in Midway cemetery under the direction of the Brink funeral home.
