Illinois on February 6, 1870, and passed away at his home at Adams, Nebraska, on November 21, 1929 at the age of 59 years, 9 months, and 15 days. His parents were James K. And Olive Perry . His boyhood was spent at Minonk and Secor, Illinois, at which places his father operated flour mills. Later in life he moved with his parents to Renolds, Nebraska and from there they moved to western Kansas. While there he taught in a public school for a year. The Perry family remained in Kansas for three years and after proving up on their homestead, they moved back to Reynolds. At the age of 24 he was married to Eliza Harper and they made their home near Renolds for a few years. Then they moved to a farm south of Adams, where they lived for 25 years. The last three years they lived in town. In the early part of his life, Mr. Perry was a member of a Missionary Baptist church. In 1911 , he joined the Presbyterian church at Adams and in a few years, because of his earnest work and Christian life, he was made an elder in his church. He has always been a willing helper among his fellow workers and in local life has held offices of trust and influence in business, political and religious affairs. In his quiet, cheerful way his ideals and ideas have been put into action without the realization of his influence by his associates. His character has always been the noblest. He has been the soul of honestly and promptness and has won the respect of everyone will whom he came in contact. His sympathetic, understanding nature and quiet manner have endeared him to all who knew him. As a husband and father, he has made his life so nearly ideal as to be an inspiration to his relatives. He was always considerate of the welfare of his loved ones and their happiness has always been his first thought. He was a companion and chum to his children, and as they grew up still remained their ideal and advisor. Surely a man of such nature and Christian qualities will find a place among the princes of Heaven as he has been a prince among men. He leaves to mourn his death , his wife, Mrs. Eliza Perry, Caryl, wife and two babies, Jean and Marjorie, who live near Adams, Gladys, who is General Secretary of the Young Womens Christian Association, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Duane, who is teaching in public schools at Bellevue, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by a baby son, Warren, who passed away thirteen years ago. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Presbyterian Chuch, conducted by the Rev. J.T. Hollingsworth, and were very largely attended. Internment was in Highland Cemetery.
