Description	:	FREEMAN JONES OF BROOKLYN DIES Freeman Jones, for 65 years a resident of this community, died Thursday at the Montezuma hospital from an infection caused by a bruise while cranking his car. He had been in the hospital about ten days but his condition was not serious until the last day. He was born a short distance southeast of Brooklyn in the Moravian Church neighborhood, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mose Jones. Read More	FREEMAN JONES OF BROOKLYN DIES Freeman Jones, for 65 years a resident of this community, died Thursday at the Montezuma hospital from an infection caused by a bruise while cranking his car. He was born a short distance southeast of Brooklyn in the Moravian Church neighborhood, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mose Jones. They lived there until 1874 when they bought a farm two miles east of the Malcom fair ground where Mr. Jones still lived. Freeman Jones was married in 1889 to Miss Millie Edwards, an English girl then living in Delaware county, Iowa. To them two sons were born, Walter and Clifford. The mother died in 1893 and left her grief stricken husband and two babies. With the assistance of relatives and housekeepers, Mr. Jones kept the family together and the two boys grew up and married. Walter lives on the home place and his two sons, Robert and Paul, and Clifford Jones live on the John Jones farm an uncle who lives in Malcom. His two children are Donald and James. Mr. Jones was an Odd Fellow, belonging to the Malcom Lodge. Besides his brother and sons he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Jane Audas of Gray, Iowa, who was present at the funeral, and Mrs. Mosely Lee, of Lajuanta, Colo., who was unable to be present. Others attending the funeral from a distance were Elmer Jones and son Willard of Glidden, and Lee Covault of Kellogg. Two sisters preceded Mr. Jones in death, Mrs. Frank Audas and Mrs. Newt Covault. Services were held from the house Sunday afternoon, the Rev. R.G. Nye conducting them. Interment was beside his wife in the Brooklyn cemetery where she was laid 37 years before.
