Friedarieka Christina Drossel, daughter of William and Lena Veidman Ronnau, was born at Springfield, Nebraska, August 20, 1888. As a girl she moved with her parents to Leeds and later to the Climbing Hill area. In June 1910 she married James Drossel in Sioux City. They lived in the Lawton area and later she came to the Anthon vicinity where she lived on the same farm from 1929 to 1955 when she moved into Anthon. She was a member of the Anthon United Methodist Church and was the last Gold Star mother of this post. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Caroline) Etler, Mrs. Gerald (Gertrude) Yockey, Mrs. Wayne (Frances) Etler, and Mrs. Alvin (Margaret) Schwarz, all of Anthon; two sons, Carey of Anthon and Arthur of Salix, twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. John Martens and Mrs. Hans Christopherson, both of Anthon. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, two sons, one sister and three brothers.
