Description	:	Fred Bohren Sr., 87, Succumbs Wednesday Fred Bohren Sr., a resident of this community for many years, died Wednesday, Jan 27, at the local hospital at the age of 87. He had been ill for several months and hospitalized the past month. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at Hengstler's Chapel and Christ Lutheran Church at Bazile Mills. The Rev. Frank Zirbel of Foster officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dennis Bohren, Delmar Bohren, Alfred Beckman, Virgil Frogue, Marvin Smith and George Staffer Jr. Friedrick Bohren was born to Jacob and Katheryn Bohren on Nov. 26, 1877 in Matten, Interlaken, Switzerland. There he was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith. When he was about eight years old his parents died within a year of each other. He and his brothers and sisters were placed in foster homes. When about 20 years of age he came to this country and later became a citizen. He first lived at Verdigre, where a sister, Mrs. Sam Jacob, lived. She and a brother, Hans Bohren had previously come to the United States to make their home. Mr. Bohren worked for several families in the Winnetoon area. Later he and his brother were in partnership on a farm north of Center. On April 16, 1906 he was united in marriage to Miss Louise Beckmann at Christ Lutheran Church. They lived on a farm north of Center for 37 years, then moved to a small farm north of Creighton and lived there for about nine years. They moved into Creighton 13 years ago. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1956. Surviving are his widow; one son, Fred Bohren Jr. of Winnetoon; three daughters, Mrs. Geo. (Amelia) Kumm of Creighton, Mrs. Ralph (Eda) Johnson of Plainview and Mrs. Dale (Clara) Johnson of Brunswick; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Hans Bohren and one sister, who lives in Switzereland.
