Description	:	Fritz N. Watson, Jr. of 171 Towne Creek Trail in Anderson, S.C., passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2011. Born in Anderson on January 18, 1927, he was the son of the late Fritz N. Watson Sr. and Beulah Moorhead Watson. A graduate in physics of Berea College in Kentucky, he served in the army at the end of World War II. He went on to pursue graduate studies in Electrical Engineering at Georgia Tech before starting a career as a nuclear engineer. He eventually took a position with the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, DC, where he worked... Read More	Fritz N. Watson, Jr. of 171 Towne Creek Trail in Anderson, S.C., passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2011. Born in Anderson on January 18, 1927, he was the son of the late Fritz N. Watson Sr. and Beulah Moorhead Watson. A graduate in physics of Berea College in Kentucky, he served in the army at the end of World War II. He went on to pursue graduate studies in Electrical Engineering at Georgia Tech before starting a career as a nuclear engineer. He eventually took a position with the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, DC, where he worked until his retirement in 1982 at the age of 55. Upon his retirement, he returned to Anderson, built a home, and worked in land development. He is survived by his wife, Carrie Reece Watson, , his four sons, Neil, Rick, Doug and Stan Watson, their wives and thirteen grandchildren and his sister, Jean Watson Warrick. Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, September 21, at Boulevard Baptist Church, where Fritz and his wife have attended for many years. Interment will be at Salem Baptist Church on Salem Church Road immediately following the service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, September 20 at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, 3205 Hwy 81 North. The family is at the residence.
