The Reverend James Brewer officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Gibbon. Mr. Vohland was born November 17, 1905, on a farm south of Gibbon, the son of Jacob and Bessie E. Services were Wednesday at the Gibbon Faith United Church. The Reverend James Brewer officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Gibbon. Mr. Vohland was born November 17, 1905, on a farm south of Gibbon, the son of Jacob and Bessie E. (Donaldson) Vohland. He grew up in the Gibbon area and graduated from Gibbon High School in 1924. He married Mabel Marks on April 10, 1928. They farmed south of Gibbon. In 1940 they moved into Gibbon. In addition to farming, he operated a corn shelling business until retiring in 1982. Mr. Vohland was an active volunteer fireman for more than 42 years and had been fire chief and was still on the roll call at meetings. He also was a member of the Faith United Church. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert of Gibbon; two daughters, Mrs. Joan Hemmerling of Gibbon and Mrs. Jane Olson of Kearney; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; two brothers, Lee of Scottsbluff and Perl of Gibbon, and a sister, Mrs. Bonnie Shanahan of Omaha. He was preceded in death in 1940 by a daughter, Donna Rose.
