Description	:	Gail Louisa Fread, daughter of Russell A. and Minnie Grant, was born May 26, 1899, on a farm near Jamaica, Neb., with her twin sister, Glenna Frances. Read More	Gail Louisa Fread, daughter of Russell A. and Minnie Grant, was born May 26, 1899, on a farm near Jamaica, Neb., with her twin sister, Glenna Frances. She passed away at the Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, Neb., Jan. 13, 1982, at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 18 days. When 6 years old, she moved with her family to a farm near Milford, Neb., where she attended grade school. From there they moved to a farm near Wauneta, Neb. In 1912 they sold the farm and moved to Kearney to the house that she so dearly loved. She attended high school and Kearney State Teachers College in Kearney and taught school in the vicinities of Stockville, Erickson and Riverdale. On June 6, 1923, she was united in marriage to Howard Lee Fread of Litchfield, Neb. They were married in Kearney by Rev. W.P. McLellan and made their home on a farm southwest of Litchfield where she was still living at the time of her death. Her husband passed away July 31, 1958. To this union were born seven children; Mrs. Betty Brewer, John Samuel, Robert Lee, and Juanita Beckham of Pleasanton; Wilbur Clare of Litchfield; Russell Ezra and (Howard) Laroy of Kearney. Preceding her in death were her husband, father and mother, one brother, one sister, and two grandchildren. She is survived by her seven children, 25 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, her twin sister, Mrs. Glenna Clevenger of Mossyrock, Wash., nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends. She was loved by all who knew her. She had trusted Christ as her Saviour since her early teen years, and has been steadfast in the work of the Lord until she went to be with Him. She was a member of the South Loup Brethren Church since she came to live in this community in 1923. We feel that it was God's will that she be relieved of the pain, and not to suffer any more by having the surgery. Funeral services were held at the Evangelical Free Church in Kearney, Saturday, Jan. 16, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ralph Larson officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery with the Love and Rohde Funeral Home of Ravenna in charge. Pallbearers were grandsons: Ronald Brewer, Dennis Fread, Kenneth Fread, Craig Fread, Curt Fread, and Monty Fread. Honorary pallbearers: Walter Roelle, Edwin Kroeger, Clyde Kelley, Frankie Linden, Alfred Bauer, Lloyd Reitz, and Elmer Rolfsmeyer. Organ music was by John Cherry. Sandra Kelley accompanied Janelle Fread with a solo, "Finally Home" and George and Peter Reitz with her two favorite hymns, "Lily of the Valley" and "Rock of Ages."
