Description	:	KEARNEY — H. Laroy Fread, 84, of Kearney died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at Mother Hull Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Kearney Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Brian Klein officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Susan Richardson and her husband, Stephen, of South Carolina and Janelle Petersen and her husband, Dex, of Aurora; grandsons, Stephen L. Richardson and his wife, Bethany, Shawn Richardson, Daniel Petersen and Brandon Petersen; great-granddaughter, Amanda Richardson; brother, Russell Fread and his wife, Ella, of Kearney; and sister, Nita Beckham of Pleasanton. He attended school at Brown School District 116 in Buffalo County and then Litchfield High School and graduated in 1945. He married Violet on her family's farm near Litchfield. Laroy worked as an X-ray technician at Rockwell Manufacturing and later as a custodian at Kearney Public Schools. He enjoyed yard and garden work. Laroy was a member of the Kearney Evangelical Free Church where he and Violet were involved with Team Teaching for several years and also Awana. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
