Larry Pearson will officiate with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk. There will be graveside rites by Iconic Chapter 87, AF & AM of Niobrara. The son of John and Ida (Robinson) Burdick was born May 8, 1896, at Creighton. He died Tuesday, June 2, 1992, at Laundberg Memorial Hospital. He attended rural Creighton school and graduated from Creighton High School in 1918. He worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. for several years. On June 11, 1924, he married Martha Kaplan of Verdel. They lived in Creighton, where he was assistant postmaster for 10 years. They later owned and operated a grocery store at Stuart for nine years and a store at Neligh for eight years. The couple lived on a farm near Verdel for 25 years and in Verdel before moving to Creighton. Mr. Burdick was worshipful master of Ionic Chapter 87, AF & AM, and a member of Ionic Chapter 172, Order of Eastern Star, which he served as worthy patron for 31 years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Verdel. Survivors include his wife; son and daughter-in-law, Mardell and Willard Johnson of Norfolk; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Mildred Vine of San Diego, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Memorial managed by 8th cousin
