Description	:	Gardie Beavers, son of Thomas E. and Louisa Beavers was born at Leon, Iowa, Oct. 31, 1886, and passed away at Deshler May 15, 1966, at the age of 79 years, six, months and 15 days. At the age of two he moved with his parents to this area. He resided in the Carleton, Oak and Edgar communities, and moved to Davenport in 1919, where he made his home for the last 47 years. ... Read More	Gardie Beavers, son of Thomas E. and Louisa Beavers was born at Leon, Iowa, Oct. 31, 1886, and passed away at Deshler May 15, 1966, at the age of 79 years, six, months and 15 days. At the age of two he moved with his parents to this area. He resided in the Carleton, Oak and Edgar communities, and moved to Davenport in 1919, where he made his home for the last 47 years. He was united in marriage to Maude Rathbun June 1, 1910. Six sons and one daughter were born to this union. He was preceded in death by his wife and an infant son. Survivors are: his sons: Loyal of Omaha; Dale of Edgar; Virgil of Grand Island; Doniphan of Fairmont; Gardie, Jr. of Carleton; and one daughter, Cleo of Fairbury; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers: Glen Beavers of Franklin and Tyndall of Albany Davis and Mrs. Bess Moore of Santa Ana, Calif., Mrs. Jennie Kennamon of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Lucy Dudley of Geneva and Mrs. Roxie Richardson of North Platte. Funeral services were held in the Urbauer Funeral Parlors in Davenport at 10 a.m. May 17, with Rev. G. L. Evans the officiating minister. Mrs. JoAnn Row sang with Mrs. Deloris Graul her accompanist. Pallbearers were his grandsons Clark, Paul, Max, Graton, Thomas and Val Dean Beavers. The Masonic Lodge of Davenport was in charge of the burial services at the Edgar Cemetery. Mr. Beavers was a longtime member of the Lodge, having received his 50 year pin shortly before his death. The Urbauer undertakers were in charge of arrangements.
