Her mother is Carrie Nott Hinkle. Read on, as it is in the Nott history written by Mary Alice (Molt) Wheeler and Anne Mae (Molt) Feik. George W. Nott was born in Genesee Co., New York in July 1818. He married June 30, 1839, Maria Eleanor Nutting. They moved to West Point, Wis. in 1857. The family moved to Elgin Twp., Antelope Co. Nebraska May 11, 1886 where he lived until he died Nov. 21, 1897. To this union were born nine children, seven born in New York and two daughters born in Wisconsin. His son, Gardner G. Nott was born Jan. 17, 1844, fourteen miles from Niagra Falls at Pendleton, Niagra Co. New York. He married Mary Eleanor Sharp on Jan. 16, 1866 at Lodi, Wisconsin. They had six sons and three daughters born in Wisconsin and two daughters born in Nebraska. They moved to Nebraska March 26, 1884, settling on a farm 4 miles south of Albion where they lived one year. In the spring of 1885 they located seven miles north of Spalding in Wheeler County on a homestead. He filed a timber claim and increased until they possessed 720 acres. The Gardner G. Nott family was living in a sod house until 1895 when they moved a tin house from the Beaver, then they also added another room which was the kitchen. They celebrated their golden anniversary at the farm home in 1916, and when both were in their 82nd year they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at teh home of their daughter, the Luke Hinze home, at Akron. Gardner and Mary's oldest son, Miles was born August 16, 1867 in Lodi, Wisconsin. He came to Nebraska from Wisconsin and married Minnie Bell Rinesmith August 12, 1897 at Ulysses where their first two children were born, Floyd and Edith (Senften). They moved to Spalding in 1900 or 1901 where Helen (Kinnier), Pearl (Mot) and Leslie were born. Miles was a drayman and a cement layer. He laid many of the sidewalks and steps in Spalding; his name can still be seen in the sidewalk around Spalding Public School - 1916. He belonged to the Volunteer Fire Department and stables the horses on a lot to the south of his home. On one occasion, when the fire bell rang, he had to take time to dress and when he got to the barn, the horses had bolted and were waiting downtown near the fire wagon, ready to go, when he arrived. He built their home of cement block; this home is now owned by the Harry Joyce family. They moved to Genoa in 1933, then to California in 1937. Mrs. Nott died July 11, 1948 and Miles died Jan. 17, 1959 and are buried at Oak Hill Cemetary in Red Bluffs, California. Of Clyde and Pearl (Nott) Molt's family, only Anne Mae (Feik) lives in Spalding. Mary A. (Wheeler), Clyde Dean and Vivien M. (Waford) live in Grand Island. Richard lives in Maricopa, Arizona.
