Description	:	"Last Monday morning early, Garrett Clawson, an old pioneer of Warren Township, son of the late Timothy Clawson, and brother of Trustee, Abe Clawson, went to the cornfield in company with his 11 year old grandson, Jimmy Graves, to husk a load of corn. While husking Mr. C. fell dead, the result of paralysis. The boy ran to the house, 300 yards distant, and told his grandmother, then notified the neighbors. Deceased was in the 68th year of his age and was one of the substantial citizens of the country. He leaves a wife, two adult children, married, and grandchildren. Thomas, a son, lives in Tippecanoe County, near Lafayette; Mrs. Jane Graves, a daughter, lives in Benton County. Mr. C. ate a hearty breakfast and did not complain of feeling sick. Funeral took place Tuesday at 3 o'clock p.m., at the residence, and remains were buried in Independence Cemetery. Mr. C. was a brother-in-law to Mr. P.W. Lewis, of this place. Mr. Lewis attended the funeral." - Warren County, Indiana, October 30, 1893 "Garret Clawson fell dead Monday while husking corn in the field at his home near Independence. The cause of death was heart failure. He was sixty-seven years old and leaves a wife and two children.
