He died Sunday, September 15, 1991 north of Holyoke in an automobile accident at the age of 55. Garry grew up on the family farm north of Holyoke and attended Sunnyside Grade School. He attended high school in Holyoke and graduated from Holyoke High School in 1954. He continued his education at Colorado A & M, now Colorado State University, graduating in 1958. During this time, he was an active member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He returned to CSU in 1959 and 1960 to obtain his master's degree. Garry returned to Holyoke and farmed with his father until 1974 when he took over the farming operation. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and also on the Board of Directors of the Security National Bank. He was president of the Alumni Association of the Sigma Phi Epsilom Fraternity at CSU. He was a past member of the Holyoke Co-op Association Board and had been active in the Democratic Party. Survivors include his father Robert I. Saylor and step-mother Margaret of Clifton; two stepbrothers, Gerald D. Ferguson and wife Karlene of Boulder and Robert Ferguson and wife Marilyn of Fort Collins; a stepsister Mary Margaret Orman and husband Robert of Clifton; and many aunts uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Garry was preceded in death by his mother Lena and his grandparents. Funeral services were held Thursday, September 19 at the United Methodist Church in Holyoke with Rev. Jack Pedotto officiating. Burial was in Holyoke Memorial Park.
