Description	:	Gary Dee Lindenstein, age 40, died Sunday evening, January 21, 1979 at his home in Gibbon of an apparent heart condition. Born in Kearney, Nebraska to Orville and Maude (Russell) Lindenstein on September 10, 1938, Gary was a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Gibbon High School in 1957 and competed in basketball and football for the Buffaloes. Read More	Gary Dee Lindenstein, age 40, died Sunday evening, January 21, 1979 at his home in Gibbon of an apparent heart condition. Born in Kearney, Nebraska to Orville and Maude (Russell) Lindenstein on September 10, 1938, Gary was a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Gibbon High School in 1957 and competed in basketball and football for the Buffaloes. He was married to his former high school classmate Marla (Bailey) Bennett on November 5, 1969 in Kearney. A member of Faith United Church in Gibbon, he was assistant manager of Nutra Flo Chemical, and had previously farmed in the Gibbon area. He had served in the National Guard unit of Kearney. Surviving are his wife, Marla Faye; a daughter, Barbra Dee Lindenstein; two step-sons, Scott and Kent Bennett of Gibbon; one step-daughter, Brenda Bennett of Gibbon; his mother, Maude Rhodes of Palm Harbor, Florida; one brother, Dale of Storm Lake, Iowa; two sisters, Glenda Cudaback of Omaha and Suzanne DeBrie of Kearney. He was preceded in death by his father Orville E., and one step-son, James Bennett, who died in 1977. Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Faith United Church with the Rev. Alvin Trucano officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Open visitation was at the Horner-Lieske Mortuary in Kearney, who were in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were David Truelson, David Ohlman, Richard Bolin, Ron Richardson, Don Richardson and Kyle Hemmerling. Memorials are planned to the Gibbon Emergency Unit and Gibbon High School Athletic Department.
