Description	:	Gary G. Goehring, 71, of Keosauqua died at 6:20 am Friday August 29, 2014 at his home. He was born July 27, 1943 at Cramlet place North of Douds to Lewis Keith and Mable Evelyn Goehring and married Mary Hendricks April 1963. They later divorced. Gary grew up between Douds and Libertyville on the family farm. He was very active with livestock, 4H and FFA earning the American Farmer Degree and serving as a state FFA officer. Goehring, 71, of Keosauqua died at 6:20 am Friday August 29, 2014 at his home. He was born July 27, 1943 at Cramlet place North of Douds to Lewis Keith and Mable Evelyn Goehring and married Mary Hendricks April 1963. They later divorced. Gary grew up between Douds and Libertyville on the family farm. He was very active with livestock, 4H and FFA earning the American Farmer Degree and serving as a state FFA officer. He lived and farmed in rural Libertyville community raising dairy cattle, registered Hereford cattle and quarter horses. He attended Missouri Auction School and began conducting sales. He took the opportunity to purchase the Keosauqua Sale Company in August of 1986. After growing the business he sold his interest to Bill and Becky. After retiring from the sale barn in 2006 he became deeply involved with raising and training border collies and was a member of Iowa Stock Dog Club and hosted many dog trials on the home farm. Gary also continued to background feeder cattle. Hew was an active member of Mt. Zion Church in Libertyville. Surviving are a son, Bill(Becky)Goehring of Libertyville, a daughter, Debbie(Eric)Armstrong of Folsum, NM, five grandsons, Curtis and Ted Goehring of Keosauqua and Jake Armstrong of Fort Benning, GA, a granddaughter, Kasey Armstrong of Nashville, IN and a sister-in-law, Nicky Goehring of Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Larry Goehring. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 Wednesday September 3, 2014 at Mount Zion Church, Southwest of Libertyville, Rev Jerry Caughron officiating. Visitation will open at 2 pm Tuesday at the Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with family present from 5-7 pm. Burial will in Fell Cemetery, Libertyville. Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family may be left at the funeral home, church or mailed to the family at 2634 Clearwood Ave. Libertyville, IA 52567.
