Father of son James Lee Elznic, and daughter Cynthia Dawn Elznic; and seven grandchildren. ELZNIC, GARY LEE—Gary Lee Elznic was born in Geneva, on February 22, 1938, to Agnes (Kral) and James Elznic. He passed away in the Fillmore County Emergency Room in Geneva on September 27, 2010, at age 72 years, seven months and five days. Gary lived in Geneva all his life. Gary graduated from Geneva High School in 1957, after which he started his own business, Elznic Electric and Plumbing. He worked in this same capacity until a couple years before his death. Gary was married to Betty Nabity on January 8, 1966. To this union three children were born: Susan, James and Cynthia. He was a caring and loving father and grandfather, who loved doing things with his children and grandchildren. He especially liked hunting, fishing, boating and camping. In his later years, he enjoyed his bait-shop and being outdoors. He always had a great outlook on life no matter what. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, James and Agnes; daughter, Susan; brother, Donald and his wife Lois. He is survived by his loving children and spouses, James and Joyce Elznic and Cynthia Elznic and Dan Kerwood; and grandchildren, Sam, Causha, Cheyenne, Victoria, Zachariah, Naomi and Abagale. Funeral services were held on October 1, at the Farmer and Son Funeral Home in Geneva with Pastor Hugh Campbell officiating. The recorded selections “Just a Swingin” and “Angels Among Us” were played for the service. Pallbearers were Jason Elznic, David Lee Corey Ellison, Doug Kerwood, Sam Hickman and Justin Sautter.
