Description	:	Gaylord Garrett Wehmer, 89, of Tecumseh, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh, Nebraska. He was born March 21, 1927 to John and Viola (Hobbs) Wehmer at Sterling, Nebraska. He attended Lewiston Schools and graduated with the Class of 1945. Read More	Gaylord Garrett Wehmer, 89, of Tecumseh, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh, Nebraska. He was born March 21, 1927 to John and Viola (Hobbs) Wehmer at Sterling, Nebraska. He attended Lewiston Schools and graduated with the Class of 1945. He served his country from January 18, 1951 until his honorary discharge November 21, 1956. He was united in marriage to Beverly McCoy on April 25, 1951. To this union three children were born, Gail, Steven and Lori. They made their home on a farm five miles south of Crab Orchard where they raised their family. He was a long-time grain and livestock farmer. Gaylord farmed with his son Steven until he retired and moved to Tecumseh in 2011. Gaylord trucked livestock for his neighbors to the Omaha Stockyards and to St. Joseph, Missouri. He was a longtime member of the Lewiston School Board and the Crab Orchard American Legion Post #336. He assisted his children when they were in 4-H. Gaylord sold Hoegemeyer Hybrids seed and had a feed store for many years. Gaylord loved to drive and he and Beverly took many trips across the country together. Gaylord and Beverly loved to go to Branson, Missouri. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 2016. He loved watching all Nebraska sports, both men's and women's. They were season ticket holders for Nebraska volleyball and men's and women's basketball for many years. Gaylord and Beverly were members of the Lewiston Methodist and later the Tecumseh Methodist Church. He always had a smile on his face for everyone he met, he loved to tease and had a good sense of humor. Gaylord was a kind, loving husband and father. He will be greatly missed. Gaylord is survived by his wife Beverly of Tecumseh, children, Gail Frahm of Lincoln, Steven Wehmer of Beatrice, and Lori Mays and special friend Ted Jones of Beatrice, grandchildren, Holly Rhodes and husband Jerry of Slanesville, West Virginia, Shawn Frahm of Kearney and Robin Crouse and husband Bill of Beatrice, great-grandchildren, Taylor Houston, Robert Houston, Diamond Crouse, Justin Crouse, Bryleigh Crouse and Corbin Crouse and great-great-grandchildren, Paris Houston-Clark and Gabbee Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Marjorie Flesner Ball and Evelyn Weyers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Rev. Rob Clark officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, NE. Memorials may go to the family's choice. Interment will be in the Lewiston Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with full military honors by the Nebraska National Guard Funeral Honors Team and the Crab Orchard American Legion Post #336.
