Mrs. Gedine Leesekamp, the widow of Jaoob Leesekamp, died, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gesine Paulsen, northwest of Monticello, last Thursday evening, at 7 o'clook, of pneumonia, after an illness of four days. The funeral services were conducted, last Sunday, by Rev. Kuntzel, of tbe German Reformed churoh, of which denomination the decedent was a member. Gedine Brons Dirksen was born at Midlun, Prussia, in January, 1880, and she was therefore 75 years of age at the time of her death. She was married, in 1848, to Jacob Leesekamp. Her husband oame to America in 1857, and three years later he arranged for the bringing of his wife and three ohildren to tbis country. They lived in the oountry tributary to Monticello for many years previous to tbe death of Mr. Leesekamp, which occurred in 1903. Mrs. Leesekamp was the mother of six children of whom four survive viz., Bernbard Leesekamp, Gesine Paulsen and Lambertus Leesekamp, all of this vioinity, and a daughter, Catherine, of Bloomfield, Nebraska. Mrs. Leesekamp was am intelligent woman, and was a constant reader of ourrent events. She took an active interest in tbe affairs not only of her oommunity, but in the events of the world. She was therefore a well posted woman with exact information, and being of a sociable nature she was an agreeable companion. NOTE: Obit show married in 1848, but records show married 10 May 1856 in Freepsum, Hannover, Germany
