Mrs. Paulsen died Tuesday night at her home, 125 North Main. Rev. John Baumann will conduct the service. Burial will be in the Oakwood cemetery. Burial will be in the Oakwood cemetery. Gesina Leesekamp Paulsen was born April 2, 1868 in Castle Grove township, a daughter of Jacob and Gesina Leesekamp. She was baptized and confirmed in 1914. Until her marriage on Nov 30, 1886, she lived in the Castle Grove community. Rev. Rettif of the Reformed church performed numtial service. She is survived by six children. They are Mrs. Martin Burritcher, Jake Paulsen, Mrs. William G Behrends, Henry Paulsen, Mrs August Husman, all of Monticello, and Mrs. Edward Zumbach of Coggon. Her husband and daughter Mrs. Fred Etten, proceed her in death. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Louis Burgard, Bloomfield Nebr., and 29 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Mr. Paulsen died on June 25, 1937. Couple observed their golden wedding on Nov. 30, 1936. After their marriage the couple lived for a year and a half near Center Junction and then a year in Scotch Grove. They then moved to Smithtown where they operated a creamery for three years. After that they operated farms near Oxford Junction and Wyoming, purchasing a farm north of Monticello later. In 1918 they moved to Monticello. Pallbearers will be Lewis Burrichter, Lilburn Paulsen, Melvin Husman, Donald Husman, Marvin Etten and Paul Martensen. ** NOTE - Error in the newspaper, birth date should be 1869.
