Description	:	Gene Leazer, age 92 of Seymour, Iowa passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Centerville Nursing and Rehab Center in Centerville. Gene was born on May 26, 1919 to John Henry and Liby Crease Leazer in Corydon, Iowa. Gene married Goldie Butts in 1940 and to this union 2 children were born, Terry Franklin and Linda Jean. In 1952 he married Ruby Sharp Butler and her 5 children. They were married 19 years when she passed away suddenly. In 1976 he married LaVon Crossland and she passed away in 1979. Read More	Gene Leazer, age 92 of Seymour, Iowa passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Centerville Nursing and Rehab Center in Centerville. Gene was born on May 26, 1919 to John Henry and Liby Crease Leazer in Corydon, Iowa. Gene married Goldie Butts in 1940 and to this union 2 children were born, Terry Franklin and Linda Jean. In 1952 he married Ruby Sharp Butler and her 5 children. They were married 19 years when she passed away suddenly. In 1976 he married LaVon Crossland and she passed away in 1979. In 1982 he married Velda James Baker and she passed away in 2003. He was a veteran of WWII and was honored to go on the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in 2010. Gene spent most of his life in the Wayne County area and worked in the plumbing and custodian business. Gene is survived by one daughter, Linda Jean Arriaga of San Francisco California and 5 step children Harry(Renie)Butler of Tipton, IA, Dean(Tyke)Butler of Centerville, IA, Margaret(Wes)Green of Promise City, IA, and 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Terry in 1967 Vietnam and wives, Ruby, LaVon, and Velda. Funeral services will be held 1 pm Monday, August 1, 2011 at Lange Funeral Home, Centerville with Pastor Tom Butler officiating. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 5-7 pm at the Lange Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Shriver Cemetery, Seymour, IA. A memorial has been established to Hospice of Central Iowa.
