Description	:	Geneva Alice (Golden) Lance, 94, of Lewellen, passed away Tuesday morning, May 12, 2009, at the Garden County Hospital in Oshkosh. Geneva was born on June 1, 1914, north of Lisco to Frank and Dora (Huwaldt) Golden. She received her education in country schools and attended high school in Oshkosh. Read More	Geneva Alice (Golden) Lance, 94, of Lewellen, passed away Tuesday morning, May 12, 2009, at the Garden County Hospital in Oshkosh. Geneva was born on June 1, 1914, north of Lisco to Frank and Dora (Huwaldt) Golden. She received her education in country schools and attended high school in Oshkosh. On July 23, 1932, Geneva was united in marriage to Paul Henry Lance. They lived north of Lisco for several years and then moved east of Lisco just before Paul left to serve in the Navy during WWII. Geneva lived there with her four children until they moved to Lisco, next to the Presbyterian Church. Geneva was baptized and became a member of the Lisco Presbyterian Church in October 1952. When Paul returned from the Navy, they lived there for several years before moving east of Broadwater to work for Rush Creek. After five years, they returned to Lisco until 1959, when they moved to Nevada to ranch and then work for Anaconda Mine Company. During the time they were there, Geneva worked at several different stores as a checker and clerk. She loved to have big gardens, can and cook. She cooked many meals for the hay crews and hired men during the Rush Creek years. She also enjoyed her years as a member of the Lakota Club in Lisco. Geneva made many lasting friendships wherever they lived. They returned to Lewellen and retired in 1973. When Paul passed away in 1997, Geneva lived in her home until 2001 and moved to Riverview Assisted Living. She loved having visitors and telling stories about days gone by and they were enjoyed by all who heard them. Geneva was a devoted wife and loved her children and grandchildren so much. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Paul Lance, Jr. and wife Donna of Fountain Hills, AZ, Anita and husband Richard Contratto of Chino, CA, and Dennis Lance and wife Lynda of Weiser, ID; son-in-law, Albert Brown of Lewellen; grandchildren, Teresa and husband Jim McKeeman, Terry and wife Leann Brown, Lisa and husband Scott Small, Susie Lance, Mary Goins, Sharon and husband Dale Goins, Karen and husband Mark Shaw, Michelle and husband Rick Freeman, Colleen and husband Doug Tilp, Randy and wife Judy Contratto, Kevin Contratto, Kim and husband Scott Beckham, Amy and husband Glenn Christoph, Michelle and husband Keith Binker, and Jason and wife Christina Lance; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul in 1997; her daughter, Bonna Merle Brown; her parents; three sisters; and two brothers.
