Read More	Geneva Theresa Regynski Kleppin, 92, died at her home in Weiser, ID, on Sunday, January 30, 2011, after a brief battle with cancer. Geneva was born on the family farm near Woonsocket, SD on Dec. 14, 1918, to Maxmilian and Christina (Swenson) Regynski. She was baptized at St. Wilfred's Catholic Church in Woonsocket. Geneva grew up on the family farm and attended country school through the eighth grade. She moved to Woonsocket to attend high school while boarding and working at Brown's hotel. After graduating in 1937, she attended South Dakota Beauty Academy in Sioux Falls, completing the course in 1939. She received her South Dakota Board of Cosmetic Therapy and Hairdressing in 1940. She worked as a beauty operator in Artesian, SD, until she met and married Ralph Kleppin. They were married in Hartington, Nebraska in 1941. Ralph and Geneva lived in Wessington Springs, South Dakota, where Ralph farmed and worked for the co-op until 1951 when they moved to Sturgis, South Dakota. Geneva was a busy woman raising their family of five girls and two boys. She was active in the church, including St. Francis of Assisi Altar Society, for which she was president several years, St. Patricia's Circle, and teaching CCD classes. Geneva was a proud member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She also served as a leader for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She worked tirelessly for the American Cancer Society of Meade County, SD, for several years, serving many as education chairman. She worked as a teacher's aide and lunchroom assistant. She devoted many days to helping with a variety of church, school and community projects. As Geneva said, "My life was family first, then church, school, and community." In 2000 she moved to Weiser, Idaho, to be closer to her family. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church for the last ten years. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 1975; her parents; four sisters, Gertrude, Bertie, Marion and Bernice; and two brothers, LeRoy and Edward. Geneva is survived by one sister, Christine Walgenbach, of Bartlett, TN; five daughters: Sandra (John) Morrill, of Snohomish, WA, Myrna (Gary) Huffman, of Sacramento, CA, Nancy Mortensen, of Arkadelphia, AR, Donna Pakish, of Meridian, and Laurie (Michael) Walker of Sitka, AK; two sons: Lyle (Jeri), of Weiser, and Daryl (Donna), of Anchorage, AK; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Vigil Service will be held Wednesday, February 2,2011 at 6pm St. Agnes Catholic Church. Funeral Mass Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 11am St. Agnes Catholic Church. Interment will be next to her husband at the St. Aloysius Cemetery in Sturgis, SD. Services under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home. Memorials may be given in Geneva's name to the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
