"Genny" Kemmish, age 69, of Council Bluffs, passed away October 24, 2006, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. Genny was born November 22, 1936, in Neola, Iowa, to the late Edward and Helen Parr. At the age of 6 months she moved to Persia, where she attended elementary school and Persia High School graduating in 1955. Genny moved to Omaha and married Gary "Toot" Kemmish on April 1, 1956. "Genny" Kemmish, age 69, of Council Bluffs, passed away October 24, 2006, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. Genny was born November 22, 1936, in Neola, Iowa, to the late Edward and Helen Parr. At the age of 6 months she moved to Persia, where she attended elementary school and Persia High School graduating in 1955. Genny moved to Omaha and married Gary "Toot" Kemmish on April 1, 1956. They lived in Crescent before moving to Council Bluffs in 1984. Genny was a legal assistant for the Douglas County Municipal Court and later worked as a secretary for Knox Crete Chemical in Omaha retiring in 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary D. "Toot" Kemmish in 2001; sister, Norma Coney, and brother-in-law, Levi Swensen. Genny is survived by her sons, Gerald "Butch" Kemmish and wife, Penny of Crescent, Bryan Kemmish of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Amanda, Montana, and Spencer Kemmish; sisters, Louise Jensen and husband, Mike of Minden, Jeanette Swensen of Elk Horn, Iowa; brother-in-law, Ken Kemmish and wife, Char Les of Crescent, nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family, Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Service, Friday, 11:00 a.m. Persia, Iowa, Methodist Church. Rev. Orris Drake will officiate. A luncheon will follow at the PIC Hall in Persia. Private family interment in Valley View Cemetery, Persia, Iowa.
