Read More	CENTRAL CITY — Genevive L. “Jenny” Harris, 86, of Central City died Nov. 22, 2016, at Central City Care Center in Central City. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Central City, with Monsignor Nelson Newman officiating. Inurnment will be at Central City Cemetery. Genevive was born on July 27, 1930, to Henry and Rosa (Lubes) Steinke in Cairo. Jenny grew up in Clarks and Central City, graduating from Central City High School in 1948. She remained in the Clarks and Central City area, working at Woody’s Café, Farmer’s Coop, Clark’s office and Bessy’s Café. On Feb. 20, 1952, David “Mike” Harris and Genevive Steinke were united in marriage in North Platte. Jenny then helped Mike at the Central City Cemetery, as well as working at Litzenberg Hospital in the kitchen. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years, and then became an avid golfer later in life, being a member of Riverside Golf Course for many years. She enjoyed traveling, especially her trip to Las Vegas with her friends and her Reno road trip. Getting to go to Europe with Charlene, and traveling with her daughters, sister and granddaughters were definitely the highlights of her travels. She loved to do crafts, have coffee with the girls, and play cards, especially pinochle, pitch and tripoli. She was a marvel at getting whole meals on the table right on time for supper or holidays. She cherished every moment she got to spend with her family, especially her children, and grandchildren. Jenny was a member of Lions Club, Pitch Club, Pinochle Club and Coffee “Klatch” (aka, Town and Country Craft Club), but most importantly was her faith and memberships to St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Central City and St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Clarks, as well being a member of their Altar Societies. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Charlene Wobig and Jim (Nance) Harris, all of Lincoln, Claire Jo Longly of Fullerton, Robbie (Fred) McHargue of Largo, Fla., and Mickey (Darrell) Eggli of Aurora; her sister-in-law, Arlene Steinke; a brother-in-law, Bob Bannister; and 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and seven sisters, four brothers, two grandchildren, one son-in-law, two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.
