Transcription by Harold Haswell (Heading) "Funeral Services Held Friday for George A. Corbin Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon at the Schafer & Peck Mortuary for George A. Corbin, one-time resident of Burt County who died Jan. 6 at St. Anthony's hospital in Martin, S.D. The Rev. Carl Beckman officiated, and burial was in Tekamah cemetery. Geo. A. Corbin, the eldest son of Jane Gill and Alexander Corbin, was born February 5, 1865, on the old Corbin place near Tekamah. He was one of ten children, all of whom preceded him in death except one sister, Mrs. Harry Raubach of Weiser, Ida. In his youth he taught school in Burt County, after which he farmed continuously on one farm until he went to South Dakota in 1937 to live at the home of his daughter. His kindly disposition, his wit and humor were characteristics admired by all who knew him. Good health was enjoyed by him until this fall when he began to fail steadily. The body of Mr. Corbin was accompanied to Tekamah for burial by his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Tellifero, and his granddaughter, Mrs. James Pich, her husband and daughter of Batesland, S. D. One grandson, Lt. Geo. Tellifero of Camp Robert, Calif., was unable to be present."
