Description	:	George A. Lindsay was born May 18, 1844 in LaSelle County, Ill. and after a prolonged sickness, he departed this life on Wednesday morning March 25, 1914; being almost 70 years of age. In November 1864 he joined the numbers journeying west and made his home in Iowa. It was in that state that in the following year, May 28, that he was married to Sarah C. Wharton. Read More	George A. Lindsay was born May 18, 1844 in LaSelle County, Ill. and after a prolonged sickness, he departed this life on Wednesday morning March 25, 1914; being almost 70 years of age. In November 1864 he joined the numbers journeying west and made his home in Iowa. It was in that state that in the following year, May 28, that he was married to Sarah C. Wharton. To this union were born ten children, three girls and seven boys. Excepting the girls, these children, with their mother mourn their loss. There are also four sisters and one brother besides the grandchildren that are keenly bereaved. On February 1, 1880 with his family he landed at Oakdale, Nebraska and he has made his home in this state ever since. About twenty years ago he took up his residence at Creighton, where he has made hosts of friends. At the death bed there was his wife, three sons, a daughter of one sister. Besides the immediate family there are two sisters and their families. When his country was in the throes of Civil War, he heard the call for volunteers. While not yet of age he enlisted in Company A of 132nd Ill. Infantry. He was honorably discharged on October 17, 1864.
