Description	:	George Nowak died unexpectedly at his home in Lennox on Monday evening, Apr. 4, the result of a heart attack. He attained the age of 59 years, three months and five days. George Allen Nowak was born at Stickney, SD on Dec. 29, 1934, the son of Edward and Anna (Welty) Nowak. He grew up there and graduated from Stickney High School in 1953. He attained the age of 59 years, three months and five days. George Allen Nowak was born at Stickney, SD on Dec. 29, 1934, the son of Edward and Anna (Welty) Nowak. He grew up there and graduated from Stickney High School in 1953. He then was employed at the J.F. Anderson Lumber Yard in Chamberlain, SD. On Nov. 25, 1956, he was united in marriage to Ruth Dutro in Chamberlain. He then was employed at lumber yards in Artesian and Baltic before moving to Sioux Falls. The couple moved northwest of Lennox in 1964, and moved into Lennox in 1991, where they had since lived. He had been employed by Swift Brothers Construction Company in Sioux Falls for 17 years. He then formed Nowak Construction Company in Lennox, which he owned and operated until his son, David, took over in 1991. He and his wife owned and operated the Oriole Cage Cafe in Lennox from 1987 to 1993. For the past year he had been employed by Living Designs near Worthing. He was preceded in death by his father on Mar. 25, 1974. Survivors include his widow, Ruth; his son, David Nowak of Lennox; four daughters: Kyra Fischer and her husband, Earl, Georgina Cavin and her husband Bryan, and Heidi Fodness and her husband, Craig, all of Lennox, and Tammy Nowak of Atherton, CA; nine grandchildren: Stacy, Beth and Cody Nowak, Nicole and Justine DeCou, Megan Fischer, Whitney and Miriah Cavin, and Brooke Fodness; his mother, Anna Nowak of Corsica; one brother, Delmar Nowak and his wife, Pat of Plankington; one sister; Marianna Girton and her husband, Marvin of Academy; several nieces and nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of friends.
