He spent the greater part of his life in Taylor county. He was taken ill the first part of November and made his home with his brother, Ralph, in Bedford until he was taken to the hospital Jan 5, 1926. Read More	George Albert DeVoe was born in Page county, Iowa, August 10, 1896, and departed this life Feb 3, 1926, at the University Hospital in Iowa City, Ia, at the age of 29 years, 4 months and 23 days. He spent the greater part of his life in Taylor county. He was taken ill the first part of November and made his home with his brother, Ralph, in Bedford until he was taken to the hospital Jan 5, 1926. George was a loving, obedient boy, who won many friends wherever he went, by his kind loving disposition. He leaves to mourn his departure, his father and step-mother, Mr and Mrs James DeVoe of Waterloo, Ia; four brothers, James of Des Moines, Ralph and Charlie of Bedford, Frank of Waterloo, and one sister, Ruth of Sharpsburg; and one half-sister, Mrs Clara Myers of Waterloo, and a host of other relatives and friends. His mother and one sister, Eva, having departed their life in earlier years. Funeral services were conducted by Rev Coley of Bedford at the Christian church in New Market, Ia, and burial was made in Memory cemetery. The Bedford I.O.O.F. Lodge had charge of the service.
