Description	:	DeVoe, Ralph, son of James Curtis and Alice Drennan DeVoe, was born in Page County, Iowa, March 4, 1898. He passed away at Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa, Wednesday, April 30, 1964, at the age of 66 years, 1 month and 26 days. He was married July 23, 1918, to Marie Quinn. He passed away at Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa, Wednesday, April 30, 1964, at the age of 66 years, 1 month and 26 days. He was married July 23, 1918, to Marie Quinn. They became the parents of six daughters, all of whom survive; Marian Updike of Corning; Helen Ries of Portland, Oregon; Marge Carper of Grapevine, Texas; Bette Pfiffner and Jerry Johnston of Irving, Texas; and Shirley Williams of Chariton, Iowa. Early in life Ralph joined the Christian church and attended there as a young man. He was a hard worker, and spent most of his life working with the Ford Motor line; at Bedford, Iowa, with the car agency, at Osceola, Iowa, with the car agency and coming to Corning in 1951 with his son-in-law, Richard Updike, to form the Ford Tractor dealership. He retired from this partnership in 1963. His main interest in life were the joys of his home and family, where he will be sorely missed. In addition to his wife and daughters, he is survived by one brother, Charlie DeVoe of Bedford, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs Clara Meyers of Duluth, Minnesota, and Ruth Dickerson of Phoenix, Arizona; six sons-in-law; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 2, at 2:00 pm, from the Roland Funeral Home in Corning with Rev W.H. Sinning officiating. Music was by Mrs Doyle Tranbarger, Mrs Bert Peckham and Mrs Dick Cook. Pallbearers were John Hinck, Clinton Cooper, Roy Krauth, Paul Spring, Lloyd Leonard and Bill Meyers. Flowerbearers were Mrs Clinton Cooper and Mrs Roy Krauth. Interment was in Memory cemetery, New Market, Iowa. ADAMS COUNTY FREE PRESS, Corning, Iowa, May 7, 1964
