Description	:	PLANKINTON — A Requiem Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Raymond Mowry March 26 at St. Johns Catholic Church for George A. Streeck who died at the Veteran's Hospital in Sioux Falls March 22. Military honors were accorded at the cemetery and burial was in the Plankinton cemetery under the direction of the Anderson Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Lynn Fellows, Don Weick. Fritz Woodall, Vince Harris, Carl Furchner and Harry Krell. George Streeck was born Oct. 15, 1886 northeast of Plankinton in Palatine township. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWI. Fritz Woodall, Vince Harris, Carl Furchner and Harry Krell. George Streeck was born Oct. 15, 1886 northeast of Plankinton in Palatine township. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWI. After returning from the service he established himself as a barber and followed this occupation for 27 years in Plankinton and one year at Presho. After that he was in the hatchery business for 18 years until he retired because of poor health. In 1949 married to Lucille Kremer of White Lake. He is survived by his widow, one foster daughter, Mrs. Jean Cobb, Battle Creek, Mich.; one son Tom Rapid City; two brothers, Fred, Van Nuys, Calif, and Walter Plankinton. One brother, Jake and his parents preceded him in death.
