Read More	From "Clark County Courier", Kahoka, Missouri dated Friday, August 19, 1932, Page 6: GEORGE BANGHART George Banghart, well known in Clark county died at Keokuk, Iowa, Monday. His sons, especially Claude spent many days at the Brose Johnson farm in Folker township and Claude lived there after his marriage. The following is from the Gate City: George Banghart, a resident of Keokuk for 44 years, died at his home 618 Bank street yesterday at 2:55 p.m., after an illness of a year. He became seriously ill on Friday. A native of Pennsylvania he was born on December 1, 1855 and came to Keokuk 44 years ago. All of his subsequent life has been spent here. In early life he took up railroad work as his occupation and was employed by the C. B. & Q. for 34 years. He was retired as an engineer some ten years ago. He attended the Methodist church and was affiliated with the Odd Fellows and Brotherhood of locomotive engineers. Surviving him are the following children: Roy, Ed, Joe and Claude Banghart, Mrs. C. E. Gross and Mrs. George Neill all of Keokuk, and George Banghart of Chicago. There are also 20 grandchildren. Mr. Banghart was married twice, both his wives preceding him in death, Mrs. Fannie Banghart dying on September 10, 1897 and Mrs. Addie Cook Banghart on July 18, 1934. Two children also preceded him, Raymond and Ruth. The body was removed from the Pearson-Schmidt and Holdbrook parlors this afternoon and taken to the home, 618 Bank street where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. -------------------- 1901-2 Keokuk City Directory: George Banghart, engineer of K Line, wife, Addie resided at 322 south 13th street. Also living there was Lery [Leroy] S. Banghart, works at Huiskamps.
