Description	:	G.B. Long who was seriously injured in an automobile accident six and a half miles west of Kimball, September 12th, died Sunday. The body was brought to Nelson, his former home, for burial. The funeral was held at the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock with Rev. S.H. Jones in charge of the service. George Barton Long third son of Francis and Elizabeth Long, was born April 20, 1871, and passed away October 14, 1928, at the age of 57 years, 5 months and 24 days. From Burlington, Iowa, the place of his birth, he came to Nelson, Nebraska, with his parents in October 1873, where he lived until 1917, when he moved to Kimball county (sic), Nebraska, where he has resided since until the time of his until his untimely death. April 6, 1893, he was married to Lillie M. Parrish in Nuckolls county (sic), Nebraska, who preceded him in death on October 2, 1824 (sic). To this union four children were born, all of whom survive to mourn the loss of a good father: Norman E. Long, Norfolk; Thomas A. Long, Kimball; Jesse M. Long, Kimball; and Faye Irene Long, also of Kimball. Two brothers and one sister survive him: M.F. Long and F.W. Long, Nelson; Mrs. J.T. Phipps, Twin Falls, Idaho. Also the mother of his deceased wife, Mrs. Josie Parrish. These few figures and an outline do not tell the story of his worth to his children and friends he leaves behind. Truly the cloud of sorrow hovered over this community when it was learned that the hopes of his recovery since the sad accident were blasted and our friend was no more. All of these years he had lived in this community so as to command respect as an honest and upright man, a worthy citizen and a true and loyal friend to a large circle. It is worth while to live so as to command respect and to be mourned when gone from amongst men. He will be especially from his children who were the object of double and special effort toward their temporal and spiritual welfare since the death of his good wife some five years ago. In the midst of life's noon day his sun went down. It is strange unto us but some time some where we'll understand. Let's be brave when the trails come, Our hearts are sad and our lips are dumb; Let's strengthen ourselves in the time of test By whispering softly "God Knows Best;" Let us still believe though we can not know, We shall learn some time, it is better so.
