Description	:	George Bell, Sr. He was born in England on Jan. 11, 1835. Died in Fleming, Kansas, on May 6, 1898, aged 63 years, 3 months and 30 days. He removed from England to Pennsylvania where he resided for a number of years, when he came to Kansas where he continued to reside until his death. He was married 42 years ago to Jane Jobson, of England. Nine children were the result of this union, six girls and three boys. Died in Fleming, Kansas, on May 6, 1898, aged 63 years, 3 months and 30 days. He removed from England to Pennsylvania where he resided for a number of years, when he came to Kansas where he continued to reside until his death. He was married 42 years ago to Jane Jobson, of England. Nine children were the result of this union, six girls and three boys. One has died leaving eight children and an aged companion to mourn his loss. Mr. Bell was a great sufferer from asthma for many years previous to his death but through all his suffering he bore it heroically without a murmur. The esteem in which he was held in the community in which he lived was best attested by the large concourse of friends and neighbors who sympathizingly attended his funeral held May 7 at his late residence and followed his remains to the Cherokee Cemetery where they were peacefully laid to rest. G.W. Brown conducted the funeral in the presence of a large number of sympathising relatives and friends. "May he rest in peace." --Cherokee Sentinel May 1898
