Kelly, 26 year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kelly of Smithland, who passed away Saturday in a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness of pneumonia, were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Methodist church at Smithland. Rev. A. Pruitt, assisted by Rev. H. I. Pharo, officiated. I Interment was in the Smithland cemetery under the direction of the Wiilman Funeral home of Rodney. Pallbearers were Jewell Leney, Harry and Jimmy Johnson, LaDean Hagerdori, Jay Watson and Basel Parker, all young men friends of Mr. Kelly. Miss Harriett Aldrlch, Miss WUma Johnson, Wayne Holzman and Rinhie Leney sang-. Young Kelly was born May 8, 1912, at Centurla. Wis. He moved with his parents to Smithland when he was 5 years of age. He attended the Smithland public school and during the last three years has been employed in the Westendorf Welding shop at Smithland. He was taken seriously ill with pneumonia Tuesday morning of last week. Saturday morning he was taken to a Sioux City hosmital where he passed away four hours later. He is survived by his parents, four brothers, Loyl or Mapleton, Jesse of Moorhead, Beryl and Gene of Smithland, and one nephew. Among the out of town relatives who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Coe, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Tadlock. Tilden Tadlock and Mrs. Cora Ferdlg of Mapleton and Mr. and Mrs. Zora Castle and two daughters of Alta.
