George Church Glover, son of William and Nancy Glover, was born at Vincent, in Webster County, Iowa, September 27, 1877, and died June 3, 1927, at the age of 49 years, 8 months and 7 days, at his home in Milltown, South Dakota, after an illness of three months duration. George Church Glover, son of William and Nancy Glover, was born at Vincent, in Webster County, Iowa, September 27, 1877, and died June 3, 1927, at the age of 49 years, 8 months and 7 days, at his home in Milltown, South Dakota, after an illness of three months duration. He moved to Harrison County when seven years of age with his parents and resided with them until his marriage to Bertha Blevins on March 18, 1903. The deceased lived most of his life in Iowa, moving to Milltown, South Dakota in 1918, where he conducted a general store, and where he resided until his death. He united with the church at Willow Valley when 14 years old and was a faithful and conscientious Christian. He was always a kind and loving husband, and solicitatious for the welfare of others, ready and willing to promote happiness and comfort to all with whom he associated. He leaves to mourn his death, his mother, a kind and devoted wife, five sisters; Nettie Mills, Momence, Illinois, Fannie Hemenover, Fort Morgan, Colorado, Hattie O’Banion, Lizzie Adams and Nora Watson of Woodbine, also, two brothers, Thomas and James Glover of Woodbine and a host of friends. The funeral service was held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon at 1:30, conducted by Rev. Bingaman, former pastor at Woodbine, but now of Denison. The singing was conducted by a male quartet, made up of Chas. L. Nicely, H. A. Burkholder, Oscar Turton and C. F. DeLance. Six of his old time friends, consisting of Arthur Ganzhorn, Earnest Ganzhorn, Martin Cox, Edward Cox, Will Holeton and Claus Cohrs carried him to his final resting place in the Woodbine Cemetery. The beautiful floral offerings sent by sorrowing relatives and friends were symbolic of the exemplary life lived by Mr. Glover. Card of Thanks We desire to thank all of our friends for their kindness during the funeral of our husband and brother; we also thank all who sent the beautiful floral offerings.
