Read More	George Kalkwarf Dies Suddenly Saturday Evening - Funeral Services Held Tuesday at Kramer Church George Kalkwarf, prominent Crete businessman, passed away suddenly Saturday evening at the home of his mother, Mrs. Leonard Grasz in Crete. According to all indications Mr. Kalkwarf hurt himself internally Thursday evening of last week. His condition was aggravated by violent hemorrhages, and he suffered severely. Saturday evening at about 8:30 he had become so weakened that he passed away while preparations were being made to take him to a hospital in Lincoln. George Claus Edward Kalkwarf, son of Henry Kalkwarf and his wife, Anna, nee Mundt, was born April 13, 1905, near Kramer. He was baptized in the Kramer Lutheran Church by the Rev. G.A. Lohr April 30, 1905. In his youth he attended the church school and was confirmed April 13, 1919 by the Rev. J.F.F. Gerike. His father died in 1916. A baby sister and a brother preceded him in death in 1917. On December 10, 1930 he was united in wedlock with Miss Mildred Henning. This union was blessed with one child, Janice Joan. As soon as he was out of school he became active in the produce business. Later on he established himself in Crete where he built up a good business. For five years the Kalkwarfs lived in Crete. Since 1935 they made their home in Kramer. His departure is mourned by his wife and daughter, Janice, 2, stepfather and mother and one sister, Mrs. Harry Henning. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Kramer Lutheran Church. Rev. W.M. Pebler officiated. Interment was made in the Kramer Lutheran Cemetery. Source: The Crete News, May 2, 1942
