Description	:	Mildred Elisabeth Louise Henning Kalkwarf Meinke, 92, of Lincoln died Saturday June 8, 2002 in Crete. She was born January 30, 1910 in Kramer to George and Ella (Schultz) Henning. She was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church on March 6, 1910 by Pastor Biehusen. She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church May 13, 1923 by Pastor Cholcher. On December 10, 1930 she married George Kalkwarf, and they had one child, Janice Joan Kalkwarf Schaal. He died May 23, 1942. She was born January 30, 1910 in Kramer to George and Ella (Schultz) Henning. She was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church on March 6, 1910 by Pastor Biehusen. She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church May 13, 1923 by Pastor Cholcher. On December 10, 1930 she married George Kalkwarf, and they had one child, Janice Joan Kalkwarf Schaal. He died May 23, 1942. Mildred lived in the Crete area most of her life having moved from Kramer for a time to Crete and in 1956 to Lincoln with her second husband, Fred W. Meinke. They were married December 28, 1948. She was a homemaker until 1956 when they moved to Lincoln. After the move, Mildred worked for Russell Stover's Candy Company for 20 years until her retirement at the age of 65. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Merle Schaal of Lincoln; grandchildren and spouses, Jeffrey L. and Laurie Schaal of Lincoln, Todd J. Schaal of Lincoln, Donna S. and Mike Miller of Olathe, Kansas; great-grandchildren Sydney L. Schaal and Addison Miller; stepdaughters, Lucy Louis of Columbus and Liela Meinke of Lincoln; and sisters-in-law, Cora Henning and Evelyn Henning of Crete. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, George Kalkwarf, May 23, 1942; second husband, Fred Meinke, June 1, 1973; and brothers, Elmer, Ben, and Willard Henning. Funeral services were June 12 at St. John Lutheran Church, Kramer with Pastor John Heckmann officiating. Organist was Jolene Reetz. Interment was in St. John Cemetery. Kuncl Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Todd Schaal, Marvin Henning, Ray Henning, Tom Henning, Mel Henning, and the Rev. Art Brinkmeyer. Source: The Crete News
