Read More	Parents are Jurgen Cook/Kock & Wiebke Katrina (Jans) Cook/Kock Wife of Mata Catharine Boepen ------------- FUNERAL OF GEORGE COOK HELD AT TERRIL MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1 George cook, a pioneer resident of Terril, passed away Friday morning, Oct. 29, at the Holy Family Hospital in Estherville at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 19 days. Mr. Cook had been in failing health following a stroke two years ago. He suffered a second stroke two months ago and was hospitalized until the time of his death. George Cook was born June 10, 1871 in Germany. He was one of seven children, six boys and one girl. When two years of age he came with his parents to this country and as a young man he and his wife came to Dickinson county to live on what was called the Cook Ranch. Later he and his wife and six children bought the home he still owned near Terril, now farmed by his youngest son, Bill. Mrs. Cook died in the early 1930's and he raised his family alone. In 1939 he retired and bought a home in Terril where he lived until two months ago. Mr. Cook is survived by three sons, Ed and Bill of Terril and Marvin of Long Beach, Calif. and by two daughters, (Bertha) Mrs. Harry Bauman of Estherville and (Hilda) Mrs. Nick Lamp of Sheffield. Five grandchildren also survive. Mr. Cook was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church of Terril. He served on the Terril school board for many years and was a community worker in his home town. He was a good neighbor and friend and will be greatly missed by his family as well as by a host of friends. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 1 from Immanuel Lutheran church at Terril with Rev. William P. Henline officiating. Music included "Be Still My Soul" and "Nearer My God To Thee." Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Arnold Cook, Bob Cook, Roy Cook, Elvin Cook, Irvin Cook, and LaVerne Cook. Honorary pallbearers were Peter Namtvedt, Mike Cruse, Elmer Zenor, Peter Johnson, Oscar Witchen and Bill Reintz. Interment was made in the Fairview Cemetery at Terril beside the body of his wife. *The Milford Mail, Nov. 4, 1954 ------------- Known siblings are: John M.
