He was a member of the Methodist Church at that place. George Jones was born November 14, 1990 in Eureka, Greenwood County, Kansas. He was the eldest son of the W.D. and Emma Jones. He passed away at his home at 515 North School Street at 2:00 p.m. October 28, 1943 at the age of 62 years, 11 months and 14 days. He was united in marriage to Susan E. Kirkpatrick at Eureka, April 6, 1903. To this union two children were born, Fred of Eureka and Louise G. Jones who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife and son Fred E. Jones at 116 North School Street. He also is survived by four brothers, James C. Jones of Bakersfield, California, Earl O. Jones of Reece, Kansas, Erwin H. Jones of Reece, Kansas, Raymond A. Jones of Bakersfield, California, and one sister, Annie Grice of Guymon, Okla. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. A.W. Johnson was held from the Kribble Funeral Home Sunday October 31, at 2:00 p.m. Interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. From Eureka Herald 4 November 1943 page 2.
