Description	:	Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church for George Miller, who died Thursday, February 15, 1951, at St. Catherine's Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. He was 67 years old. George E. Miller, a son of Hans and Dorthea Miller, was born October 25, 1883 in Clinton, Iowa. Read More	Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church for George Miller, who died Thursday, February 15, 1951, at St. Catherine's Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. He was 67 years old. George E. Miller, a son of Hans and Dorthea Miller, was born October 25, 1883 in Clinton, Iowa. At the age of two years, he came with his parents of Crawford County, locating on a farm northwest of Schleswig. Here he grew to manhood and received his education in the country school. He was baptized and later confirmed in Grant Township Lutheran Church. Upon the death of his father, he took over the operation of the farm with his mother, until they retired. He then entered the cafe business with his brother, Walter Miller, and they operated this business for four years. On July 7, 1936, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Loretta Petersen by the Rev. Walter Traub, pastor of the Kuenze Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha, Nebraska. He like to spend time out at their farm north of Schleswig. He was associated with Friedens Church for several years. Two years ago he was admitted to the Battle Creek Hospital for a serious operation and stayed for one month. After he left the hospital and returned home, he never fully regained his strenght and submitted to another operation, but his condition became critical and he died Thursday morning at 11:45 a.m. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Loretta; four sisters, Mrs. Fred (Alvena) Stockfleth of Mapleton, Mrs. Charles (Emma) Kropf of Denison, Mrs. Minnie Janssen and Mrs. Henry (Lettie) Hansen, both of Schleswig; three brothers, Willie, Harry and Walter Miller, all of Schleswig; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Alfred, Charlie and Louis Miller, and two sisters, Edna Wakehouse and Anna Miller, who died in infancy. Schleswig Leader, Feb 22, 1951
