EDWARD BOONE DIED WEDNESDAY FUNERAL SERVICES SATURDAY AFTERNOON Mr. George Edward Boone, well known and highly respected local retail merchant, died in the Maryland University Hospital in Baltimore on Wednesday. He was 69 years of age. Mr. Boone had been in poor health for some months, and had been under treatment in the McCready Hospital here at various times latey. He was born in Crisfield, the son of the late Edward and Margaret Boone, and had lived here all his life. For more than 40 years Mr. Boone had conducted a retail mercantile business in the Jersey section of Crisfield, catering largely to watermen and to the employees of the numerous seafood packing houses in the city. He was a genial and accommodating man, of quiet disposition, and had a wide acquaintance among waterman, many of whom had been customers of his for many years. On numerous occasions Mr. Boone had helped those in less fortunate circumstances, going out of his way many times to see that their needs were supplied. He was generous and friendly, and had a large circle of friends in the community and among watermen who frequently came to this port. News of his death was received with deep regret in the community. He will rest at the Covington Funeral Home on Main street until tomorrow, Saturday, when funeral services will be held in Asbury Methodist Church at 11:00 A.M., conducted by Rev. A. B. Frye, pastor of Immanuel Methodist Church. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Covington Funeral Home until the time of the funeral. Mr. Boone is survived by his widow, Mrs. Manie E. Boone, one daughter, Mrs. Edna Mae Shores, a grandson, Thomas E. Shores, and two brothers, George W. Boone and Lloyd Boone, all of this city.
